What to Eat:
  • whole grain/whole wheat breads, bagels, pastas, crackers, chips, cereals
  • whole oats
  • brown rice
  • fruits
  • vegetables
  • fish
  • chicken
  • turkey
  • soy
  • egg whites
  • nuts (unsalted)
  • beans
  • corn
  • green tea
  • sweet potatoes
  • quinoa

What to avoid:
  • sugar
  • salt
  • white flour
  • white rice
  • white potatoes
  • chocolate
  • sweets
  • egg yolks
  • heavy salad dressings and sauces (ex. Ranch Dressing, Alfredo sauce)
  • heavily processed foods
* I personally don't eat dairy, but that's my choice. If you do want to keep dairy in your diet, I would try to stay away from the fattening cheeses, and have as low fat milk as possible.

Here are some of my favorite foods that I recommend that taste good, and are good for you too. These are foods that I have tried and continue to eat. I am not getting any benefit from recommending these products to you.

  4. Casbah Whole Grain or Brown Rices
  5. Near East Whole Grain or Brown Rices
  6. Fresh, unsalted, freshly ground peanut butter found in health food stores such as Whole Foods or Central Market
  7. Cheerios
  8. Kirkland Brand (Costco) Organic Flavored Oatmeal
  9. FruitaBu Organic Smooshed Fruit
  10. Kashi Chewy Granola Bars (without chocolate)
  11. Kashi TLC Crackers
  12. Santa Cruz Organic Apple Sauce
  13. Simply Orange Juice
  14. Smart Balance Butter
